Quantum Learning®

Facilitating a revolution in teaching and learning

QL Club October 2007

Dear Quantum Learning Educator,

We’re well into the new school year and trust you’re off to a great start.

Think about all the things you did to set the culture of your classroom and school for the year. Think about the tools and moves you learned in your Quantum Learning workshop and the ones you're now using in your classroom.

Quantum Learning is a system. It’s not about any one strategy – it’s about the orchestration of a number of strategies that form a teaching and learning system. Sometimes we wonder how we know if Quantum Learning is happening in a classroom. A teacher may use one, two, or ten strategies or moves, and wonder when it would be considered Quantum Learning.

As it says on the charts you received in your QLT workshop: Quantum Learning is in action when Foundation, Atmosphere, Design, and Environment and Presentation, Facilitation, Learning-to-learn skills and Life skills are masterfully orchestrated. If you know the why behind the FADE and PFLL Quantum Learning strategies you will be able to orchestrate these tools and moves to get the outcomes you desire in your classroom – and you will have a Quantum Learning classroom.

The QLT charts (one for each QLT level) will guide you in mastering/orchestrating Quantum Learning in your classroom. If you would like another set emailed to you, please let us know by emailing jgomez@QLN.com. Many teachers have successfully implemented Quantum Learning with the help of these charts.

TELL US YOUR STORIES – QLT Fieldbook in Process
Dr. Jenny Severson is writing the Quantum Learning for Teachers Fieldbook. She would love to have your stories and examples of implementing Quantum Learning, particularly those around the strategies on the QLT charts as the book is organized around FADE/PFLL.
